Masters of Freestyle - Qualification round

Since 2017, we have been searching for the best freestyle infusion master in Europe at the "Masters Freestyle Aufguss." This is the Qualification round, which decides who is gonna have the honour to go to the finals. In the final, held at the Kristall Therme Kochel am See, 20 stars of the infusion scene (ten women and ten men) compete for the coveted Kristall Trophy.

Masters of Freestyle Aufguss is a unique competition format which combines sauna sessions and the art of towel waving.  Sauna masters will compete in the ability to demonstrate various towel waving techniques. This is an international competition, where participants come from different corners of the world and include world champions in sauna ceremonies.

The competition is divided into four rounds. The first two rounds are focused on waving the towel according to the rules, with an emphasis on classic waving and a few tricks here and there. Contestants are howeverer encouraged to improvise.

The third round consists of two parts. The first part is cooperative, where the contestants together demonstrate towel waving to selected music. The second part is a freestyle battle, where contestants fight each other to see who can improvise better.

Spectacular waving techniques, dance choreographies, and a lot of passion for a unique infusion performance are always included. At the "Masters Freestyle Aufguss," the focus is not only on the competition but also on the development of techniques, learning from each other, and inspiration through exchange with other infusion masters.
